"No problem."
Elyssa grinned, she really liked Felix. He was nice. Though not much of a conversationalist. This contrasted to Elyssa's more talkative nature. She sipped her water and fiddled with her necklace. She looked into the fire and smiled to herself. Maybe it wasn't such a bad day after-all. Conversation with this young man wasn't the best, but hey, you could forgive this. Elyssa had wanted some company and here he was.
"Yes. I can't say I like crowds much, but I never miss it."
El nodded. She could relate with that, but not very well. She was a people person really, it came with the territory of being a dressmaker. She dealt with people all the time, so she had to be able to talk to them. She didn't really like the huge crowds, but there was always someone to dance with and the colours were amazing. She really loved the Solstice. "I haven't ever missed a Solstice. They are just so colourful! And besides, the dances are fantastic and it really is the best business day of the year. People see what others are wearing and they come to us, because we usually made the clothes. They want us to make them those outfits, or similar ones. It really is an amazing night." She rambled, then realizing she was rambling, stopped and smiled. "Sorry, I'm rambling aren't I?"
"You know her?"
She looked back at Rae and nodded, "Yes, thats Raelle. She is my apprentice. It must really be raining for her to make an entrance. She is usually the silent type." She caught Rae's eye and smiled slightly. She knew that Rae would tease her relentlessly about seeing her with a person of the male persuation. El was rarely out of the shop in the time that she had knwon Rae. It had been a very busy season after all.
((Yay new colour yay. Cue Raelle come cue.))

Raelle walked slowly back to her seat, trying to be inconspicuous. Keeping her head low, so as not to catch anyone's eye, she plopped down at her table. she sipped her ale and wondered who Elyssa was talking to. A man... a very nice man indeed!
She looked up, to see Elyssa looking at her, with the oddest of smiles on her face. Returning the smile, Raelle silently gloated to herself. Elyssa seemed to really like this guy, she thought. She laughed quietly and gave herself a secret smile. Oh what fun awaited her tomorrow, teasing Elyssa.
((Can't make it longer, nothing to say. Cued))

Elyssa, he had decided, did love to talk. It was just as well that he was so quiet, then. He didn't think he'd had this long a conversation about nothing in a very long time. Felix could open up, talk a little more, but he wasn't inclined to; after all, he had only just met this woman. It wasn't as if Elyssa was Casey in the room next to his.
"I haven't ever missed a Solstice. They are just so colourful! And besides, the dances are fantastic and it really is the best business day of the year. People see what others are wearing and they come to us, because we usually made the clothes. They want us to make them those outfits, or similar ones. It really is an amazing night."
A smile smile tugged at Fleix's mouth as the woman went on and on about the Solstice. It was sweet, somewhat endearing. Her eyes sparkled, and Felix guessed she really did love the celebrations. "Sorry, I'm rambling aren't I?" she said eventually. Felix nodded, still with a pleasant smile on his face. Once again, he ran a hand through his hair, more out of habit than anything. "Indeed," he affirmed, "But don't feel obliged to stop because of me."
"Yes, thats Raelle. She is my apprentice. It must really be raining for her to make an entrance. She is usually the silent type," his companion explained. Felix turned to look at the woman for a brief second, then turned back to Elyssa. "It really is," he said, slightly bitter, "Trust me."

Elyssa talked. Alot. From the small age of two she had been talking non-stop. That is just the way the story went. And she rambled, about comepletly random things, but, it just added to the charm! She chattered on and on before realising that she was rambling. She tilted her head and listened to Felix's response. He was smiling at her, that was, good?
"Indeed," he affirmed, "But don't feel obliged to stop because of me."
She shook her head and smiled at him. "Well, that certainly is a change from the usual, 'stop chattering on and on El,' I get, so thanks!" She twirled a loose tendral of hair arounf her finger and smiled warmly at Felix. He was definately different from the kind of people she usually dealt with. "But then again, that is just Rae. She likes quiet. we really are so different come to think of it. She really doesn't like Solistice celebrations!" She cringed, realising that she was, once again, rambling. "Sorry!"
She looked over at Rae. It really must have been raining hard. Rae didn't like to get her hair wet, so that would explain the big entrance!
"It really is," he said, slightly bitter, "Trust me."
She sighed and looked at his work, "All your work, shame." She would hate it if any of her silks and cottons got wet.

Felix, during this wonderful conversation with Elyssa Vetinari, contemplated three things.
The first thing he contemplated was the weather. The weather was truly awful. Felix had always liked the rainy season, and was, in fact, a fan of the rain. Just not when it washed away weeks worth of work. The torrential downpour had to be bad when it caused people like him - and apparently "Raelle" - to make a noisy entrance. Hopefully it would clear up soon.
The second thing he contemplated was that he was badly in need of a beverage with a high alcohol count.
The third thing he contemplated was Elyssa. Elyssa, he had figured, was quite the diva. She also liked talking a lot and the summer solstice. She was a dressmaker who's apprentice's name was Raella, and she was currently single. He had picked all of that up from barely five minutes of conversing with her. She was certainly interesting.
He listened, bemused, as the girl chattered about... well, everything and anything. She certainly did get carried away. It was something that he admied, to be able to just speak freely without any reservations. Not admired, exactly, but it fascinated him. He never felt the need to talk unless his opinion was needed. He wasn't shy, he just knew when to shut up. Apparently Elyssa didn't, but he could fogive that. She was sweet.
"Sorry!" she exclaimed when she realized she was rambling again. He smiled. She really was sweet, in an absent-minded sort of way. "Don't apologize. It is quite fascinating," he replied politely, with a spark in his eye. This was uncomfortable, but fun in a weird, twisted way.
"All your work, shame," she said. Interesting. She'd immediately picked up his bitterness, and remembered about his work. Maybe he really had been too stand-offish. "I'll survive, miss. But thank you for you concerns," he said sincerely, with a shrug. "I'll redo it somehow."

Elyssa on the other hand had concluded the following:
Felix was, hmm, well she hadn't actually concluded all that much. Where El was the type of person who you could basically learn a bit about in a short sentance, Felix was the type of person that you probably wouldn't be able to learn anything about, even if you spoke to him for days. But, El liked talking and Felix didn't, and you really shouldn't judge a book by its cover.
She had learnt that he was very touchy about his work though. She had also learnt that he didn't like crowds. She'd concluded that he was a bit, well, closed off.
She'd also concluded that it was raining like hell, judging from the big entrance that Rae had made.
"Don't apologize. It is quite fascinating,"
She pulled a face. "Fascinating, thats a new one. So far I havce been described as charming, sweet, talkative, once I was described as dramatic, well not once, more than once, but still. What exactly so fascinating?" this was sort of fun. In a strange, 'I am talking to a random stranger,' kind of way. And Felix was interesting, and sort of sweet. And El hadn't had a fun night in ages. So she didn't mind being called 'fascinating.' Even if it wasn't the way she really wanted to be described. Sweet? That was fine, but fascinating?
"I'll survive, miss. But thank you for you concerns," he said sincerely, with a shrug. "I'll redo it somehow."
She tilted her head and looked at his ruined scripts. She felt bad for him. She would hate it if anything happened to her silks and her cottons. If they were ruined, she was ruined, plain and simple. "Shame, they must be ruined. I hope you can redo it. I would hate it if anything happened to my materials." she shrugged and smiled slightly at him. It must really be horrid to have all his hard work ruined.

Felix was an absent-minded young man. It was the sort that gave him a feeling of not being all there. It was sometimes the kind that made you forget your keys, but mostly in was the sort that made you break off in the middle of a sentance and think of something else. Needless to say, his attention span was lacking. However, Miss Vetinari was entertaining in her own right, so Felix felt himself grinning as she spoke. He was sure she wouldn't appreciate that he thought she was amusing. He could listen to her speak the whole day with a bemused smile on his face.
"Fascinating, thats a new one. So far I havce been described as charming, sweet, talkative, once I was described as dramatic, well not once, more than once, but still. What exactly so fascinating?" she said without drawing a breath. For one second their eyes locked. That second passed, and Felix lost control. He collapsed - 'collapsed' was too strong a word, but there was no other - into a fit of silent laughter, something he hadn't done in quite a while. He laughed quietly into his hands, shaking his head.
Regaining his compsoure he announced, "Yes, miss, fascinating. I must admit that I have never met anybody quite like you. It's fascinating in the sense that you seem to be a class in yourself, and although I doubt you're going to appreciate this, it is most amusing to watch you. In an entirely endearing way, of course." He gave a smile, a rare geniune grin. "But don't stop. This is most educational, and I must say that I have't had this much fun in weeks." It was the longest speech he'd made yet, and he was still smiling like an idiot.
"Shame, they must be ruined. I hope you can redo it. I would hate it if anything happened to my materials." He sighed, and shrugged. "I thank you for your concern. Really. It wasn't as if I was getting paid for it or anything." Unfortunately. It was a shame. His brief period with the players had been fun, but he hardly ever got paid for what he loved to do. Just writing... he hated being dictated at. Ah, welll. It kept bread on the table... most days...

If there was one thing that Elyssa Vetinari didn't like it was being laughed at. From an early age she was teased for her red hair and whatever else. She was a bit of an awkard child. And those insults were met with screams of a fiery temper and clothing magically unravelling. As she grew older El learnt to control her temper. Insults were now met with ironic comments (Oh and the occational unravelling of garments- old habits die hard). El still hated being laughed at and she still hated being teased. She liked being liked, she didn't like insults, she thought they were petty.
So when Felix started laughing her features turned to ice. Maybe ice is to strong a word, but she raised a eyebrow and yanked her braid over her shoulder feircly. This meant she was angry, people who knew her ran when she did that. One thing you didn't do to El was laugh at her.
"Yes, miss, fascinating. I must admit that I have never met anybody quite like you. It's fascinating in the sense that you seem to be a class in yourself, and although I doubt you're going to appreciate this, it is most amusing to watch you. In an entirely endearing way, of course. But don't stop. This is most educational, and I must say that I have't had this much fun in weeks." She tugged at her necklace and said rather coldly, "Well I am ever so glad I amuse you. You are quite, um, 'fascinating yourself.'"
She glanced at Rae and shook her head, "Oh my. I have completely forgotten something." she said dryly, getting up and shrugging, "Sorry, I really have to be going." She pulled a face and turned on heel. Well, there went her night off. Hmph. Oh well, she would just have to find something else to amuse herself with. Like the theatre or something. Ok, she'd go to the theatre. At least they didn't laugh at her there!
She stormed out of the Dove and pulled on her coat. Running through the rain she headed fot the shelter.

Women.
It was amazing. Felix, although quiet an unsociable, had always gotten along with them more than others. He was a writer, perhaps. He wasn't a ladies man, but he usually kept good friendships with women. Always had. It was a mystery to him why, but Felix was a kind young man, and although he was loath to display expression, he was understanding. Problem was, of course, that he didn't talk much. As a result, he offended people without knowing why, particularly because they hadn't understood what he meant, or because he was misquoated by someon else. It was a hard life.
There were things that he would never get, though. The giggling. The fluttering of the hankerchief, the fanning even when it wasn't hot and a wind was blowing. The hair tossing. It all mystified him. he was amazingly observant, though. He didn't miss Elyssa's sudden change of stature, the sudden closed expression. He was walking deeper into trouble every second. "Well I am ever so glad I amuse you. You are quite, um, 'fascinating yourself,'" she said. Felix hadn't travelled with the players for nothing, though. He immediately picked up on the sharp tone. Elyssa:1. Felix:zip.
He, of course, started to apologize. He knew what he had done wrong, looking back on it. "Miss, I-" he was aburptly cut off by her cold remark. "Oh my. I have completely forgotten something," she said. Felix ruffled his hair, more uot of frustration thean anything. He was such an idiot. "Elyssa-" The woman stood up sharply, everything about her screaming bloody murder. "Sorry, I really have to be going." And she literally stormed out. Felix looked after her, at a loss for words. Women.
He slumped down on the counter, head resting on his arms. He was an idiot. He would bang his head repeatedly, except that would give him an even worse hangover the next morning. And he most definately was going to have one. He turned over and caught sight of a small green, silver emroidered pouch. It was a pretty thing. On further inspection, it held money, jewellery, cotton and (a painful discovery) needles. He closed it again and looked closly at the embroidery. Stiched into the corner was 'Elyssa Vetinari', upon which he slumped down again. he knew what he had to do, and he didn't like it.
He signalled a waitress to bring him something strong.
[[CLOSED. That was fun]]
