((welcome))
Kyran shrugged and took a draft from his drink. "I came to the Rogue last year. I kept it quiet, though. Did my duty to Avelia." He cast Nadia a wink, hoping she knew he wasn't whole-hearted in his 'friendship' with the brothers.
Jasl nodded curtly. "Yes, my brother and I arrived a few months ago."

Nadia smiled wryly, replying, "No wonder I haven't seen you, since you've only been here for a couple of months." Seeing Kyran's wink, Nadia just raised one eyebrow and smirked, knowing what he meant, but still not trusting him. He was still talking with Jasl and Tam, after all.
Continuing to try to start conversation, Nadia grinned and cheerfully asked, "So what are you three doing here?" Nadia leaned back into her chair and looked around at the three youth, waiting for an answer. "After all, you can't have visited the Dancing Dove much, or I probably would have seen you, but you know, maybe you're just quiet."

Kyran knew she probably didn't trust him, but was fine with that as long as she knew what it meant. He nearly snorted some beer up his nose when he hear her question. Putting down his mug her replied, "Tam and Jasl, quiet? Nah, not gonna happen. I've been here before, but I keep a low profile." He shrugged ignoring the brothers' glares.
Jasl continued to glare at Kyran as Tam said, "We really haven't come here much. Only for the usual Rogue business. We're staying somewhere else."

Saraneth listened to their voices intently, trying to catch something about their tone that would give them away. Nothing. Not one bit.
These guys have trained well. They sure do know how to keep down low. she thought. She respected them for that, but not for what they wanted to do to their queen. She glared at them from under the safety of the illusion. She switched the illusion so that Nadia could see them if they needed to signal to her, but so that only Nadia could see. She watched Nadia to see if she needed help.

Damien's eyes clouded a little when Kiandra mentioned her father's death. He turned the corners of his mouth into a warm smile, trying to make her feel more comfortable with talking about the subject. "I'm sorry," he said gently before quickly following the change in topic. He turned his brown eyes to the three young lads talking to Nadia. He wished he could go over and listen himself so he could hear the words more clearly, but life wasn't easy like that. With an inward sigh, he continued to pick up bits of the conversation.
While listening to the rogues, he turned back to Saraneth and Kiandra. With a somber gaze, he said, "I've never lost anyone truly important in my family, so I don't know what kind of horrors you must have gone through." He took another gulp of cider and realized that his mug was running low. He waved over a barmaid and asked for another with his usual playful smile. She happily obliged and disappeared within the crowd.

Kiandra nodded, clear blue eyes holding the barest hint of sadness. "Not many people have, but it's good to know that your friends support you. It happened a long time ago, but it still haunts me sometimes." Flashes of the riot flew behind her eyes, before settling back into the present.

Saraneth snapped back to the conversation that Damien and Kiandra were having.
"I'm sorry about your father." she told Kiandra softly. Her own memory of her own parents deaths flashed into her mind briefly, before she shoved them back. It was part of the past, and she had work to do. Nothing she did could change the past. And she had Lirael and Myst now.
"What about your family Damien? Do you still have contact with them?" she asked.

Damien listened to Saraneth speak about her family and then reverted his own thoughts to those of his own family. He thought of his brother and parents, and he perked up a little.
"I can contact them in Port Legann if I wish to, but I really haven't had the initiative to put forth that kind of effort," he told the women in his usual drawl. "And besides, I don't really think there is much going on here that they should have to contact them and warn them about." A wide, sarcastic smile lit his face as he said this, also having the same effect on his words.
He let his eyes wander to watch Nadia for a moment. She seemed to be hooking the three young rogued nicely, so there wasn't anything to worry about just yet.

Kiandra smiled at her friends. "That's nice. My mother and younger brother still live in the city. My mother's got a small healin' Gift and my brother's got a knack for trouble."

Nadia continued making notes in her mind which could help her later, but it seemed as if there wasn't much. They didn't want to give much away if they didn't have to. Except it seemed they weren't as careful everywhere, because Kiandra had overheard them. Kyran was the one who most seemed like he wouldn't go through with it, but Jasl had been threatening him, so Nadia didn't know what Kyran would do. Best to be careful though.
So. Jasl and Tam weren't quiet, but Nadia hadn't seen them before this. Even if they rarely came to the Dancing Dove, surely she should have seen them before. Why not? Kyran she could understand, she had probably even seen him before.
Looking at Tam and Jasl, her eyes playful, she probed, "So what are you here for tonight? Some special occasion or something?" she asked playfully, smiling wryly.

Tam grinned back at her and replied before his brother could stop him. "Just organising plans. Drinking, the like." He shut up when Jasl kicked him beneath the table. Jasl glared at his loose lipped younger brother. "Yes," he commented silkily, "just drinking and kicking back."
Kyran looked from brother to brother, holding a piece of parchment out to Nadia beneath the table. Among his other attributes was skill at slight of hand. "The boys and I were just talking about their plans over an ale or two." His note expressed his reluctance to follow the brothers' lead and his wish for a like-minded ally.

Damien watched the malcontents out of the corner of his eye. He saw the kick Jasl gave Tam under the table, and he almost grinned. His mind told him not to, but his mouth still curved in a slight smile. The kick itself proved that they were hiding something and they didn't want Nadia to know about it.
"Well," he said in his usual drawl, "now we know that something's up." He did grin this time, his brown eyes glittering as he looked at his friends.
((sorry it took me so long to reply...I've been really busy =S))

(Hi people, well I'm probably so out of it know. BUT I don't want to read six whole pages. I have a headache. So can you just kinda tell me what happened. I don't have to be IN the thread anymore. But I am kinda curious.))

((Okay, heres what has happened. Anyone please add if I miss something. By the way, this is all after you last posted. Nadia went over to the other Rogue's table and started talking with them (they seem to be very reluctant to talk... wonder why?), and Saraneth puts up a magical shield around you guys, so no one can see/hear you guys except for Nadia. Kiandra's been telling the others about her family and the others have kinda been talking as well... but not much really. It's only about two pages...))
Nadia grinned, listening to their responses. Jasl obviously wanted to hide something, but his brother and Kyran weren't so careful. Good. Nadia could use that. Leaning back in her chair and putting her hands in her lap, Nadia looked around to all three of them and, pretending not to notice the slip ups, remarked, "So. Just drinking and kicking back." Still, Nadia noticed a slip up on this statement. Why would they come here tonight just to have a drink, when they barely came here normally? Really, even though they were trying to cover it up, it didn't seem to be working very well.
Having been passed a note by Kyran, she inconspicusly put it in her boot, obviously not being able to read it now. Raising an eyebrow, she looked towards Kyran, in particular, but towards all three. "Is tonight a special night? To come to the Dove, I mean."

Jasl breathed heavily through his nose, but Kyran intervened before the other man could say something stupid. "We met on the streets, started talking, and I suggested we get a drink somewhere. They didn't have any place better, so I suggested the Dove. I had to come here to bring in the loot from the day." Jasl nodded reluctantly at this order of events.
Tam took a swig of his drink. "Yeah, an' we wan'ed to check in with Avelia. Let her know we existed." Jasl's nostrils flared as he refrained from berating his brother, though the younger man had given him a perfect opening.
"Yes, though I have heard that not everyone is happy with Avelia's leadership." Jasl barely contained his fury, saying the Rogue's name as if it were a curse.
