Rhianna's eyes widened as she ineffectually tried to descend. Glaring at the offending ropes, she realized that her spell had had absolutely no effect whastover. "No! There have to be dampening spells! This can't be happening!" she screamed against the winds, feeling her throat throb with pain and rawness.
The squire felt Claw's fingers grasp for her leg, then felt him fall, and just as she watched him hit the deck, a lightening bolt hit the mast just below her position. Very close. Too close!
A searing pain ripped through her left foor, ankle, and lower shin. The rest of the ropes had burned away, and in the process destroyed some of her boot and injured her foot. Shinnying slowly higher on the mast as the fire spread, Rhianna pressed her rain soaked face into the mast before her, holding on for dear life.
Tears mixed with the rain as she tried to think through her pain. Okay...spell dampeners affect the Gift...they shouldn't affect Wildmagic, though, should they? Concentrating hard, she painstakingly transformed her form into that of a sea hawk, hoping to push away from the mast and then drop to the deck.
Rhianna, use your belt knife! Quick! A little late for that, Rose, she thought in her hawk's mind to the older knight as she took wing, one leg and claw hanging limp.

((ooc: sorry it's so short.)) Katya was absolutely fuming. All these stupid people! Claw climbing the mast wearing armour in a thunderstorm. She was not surprised he had fallen down, there were two girls in the mast! She was only glad that some people were taking control of the ship. So they might be able to get to the isles without completely sinking! Jazz called for mages, but Katya was a healer- she couldn't remove spells. She ran to claw, trying to see if she could help him. She had a small medicine kit in her pocket. That would have to do until she could get hold of the large one she had below deck. She took his pulse.
Kaidreni
When she saw Sapphire she felt very relieved. She would know what to do. She walked over to Sapphire, trying not to hurt her aching limbs as little as she could. The other woman was helping the other mages lift the spell. She waited until they had got the hang of it to talk to her. "Sorry, I didn't know what to do. I didn't think I could do anything to help until you got here." She said, wondering if the woman was angry or not. She had probably been very stupid climbing the mast. And she probably deserved to be yelled at for a while. But yelling now would be a waiste of breath. She realised, Everyone in the whole ship is needed.

Sapphire saw Kai's face, "Look, I am not going to waste anything okay? I know what I am doing and I am sorry I shouted at you." She smiled warmly at the girl, trying to hide her fuming emotions. She knew what she was doing and like it or not, she was one of the strongest mages on the ship. It's just that she was, she wasn't boasting or anything. But know she needed help and no-one was helping her.She took a deep breath and tried again "I am sorry Kai really. I need you okay?"
She looked around at the other mages, "I need them to stop. I need it to be silent, well, apart from the storm. Please stop them Kai, please. Please. But I need on of them to just keep me from being distracted ok?" She knew she was being bossy and she knew that the other mages probably had it under control, but it was much faster with her and Kai's songs. She knew she would probably be hated for this, but she was a delegate and she was delegating.
"And Kai? Thank you. Really" She started warming up again and waited for her new found apprentice to stop the mages. This was going to be okay, wasn't it?They needed to get to Yaman as fast as possible.

"Look, I am not going to waste anything okay? I know what I am doing and I am sorry I shouted at you." Kai sighed quitely, and waited to be told what to do. She did not resent being shouted at. She was just a little tired of people. "I need them to stop. I need it to be silent, well, apart from the storm. Please stop them Kai, please. Please. But I need on of them to just keep me from being distracted ok?" She ran down to where most of the mages were standing, trying to remove the dampening. "Sorry to delay you, but can you please please stop for a second. Sapphire says she needs quiet for a minute- so we can work on the weather. We'll be as quick as we can. Thanks very much." She said- as quickly as possible. And tried as hard as she could not to be rude. The mages were only trying there hardest after all. Walking back towards Sapphire, she fingered a flute in her pocket for comfort. She tried to warm up too, but not being sure what they were going to do- she didn't have much success, and tried again not to annoy or anger the mage- sapphire needed to concentrate if this storm were to ever stop.

Sapphire smiled at the girl. "Ok thats great, but the first thing you need to know about mages is that is really not going to stopo them....." She took a deep breath and looked at the other mages feiry eyed, "I told you to stop," she smiled sweetly, "Thank you." She shook her head and grinned at Kai. She looked at the other mages again, "I am going to need your help after I sing okay, I need you to keep it un-dampened so that Kai and I can sing the storm away."
"Right Kai, I need you to sing these notes when I signal you alright," she sang the notes, concentrating on the pitch and tone, "To prepare you need to take deep, slow breathes. In and out. Deep and slow." She took a few deep breathes and then moved back into her preparation state. In and out,, deep and slow. she thought.

Rose cursed as the fire began to spread. This was not good, not good at all.
Jazz, how are the mages doing with the dampening spells? I don't think we can hold out up here much longer unless we get some magic going! she said, a note of fear in her voice. She sent a prayer to Mithros and to the Goddess for Rhianna's safety and everyone else aboard the ship.
Rhianna, be careful with that wind.we she warned. She climbed down the mast a bit to avoid the flames.

((Sorry about how late my joining in is. I just got access to a computer.))
Sirri nearly ran up the stairs, onto the deck, and quickly found her balance, as she tripped up the last step. She looked around, trying to figure out what was going on. She glanced up at a mast, and saw Rhianna change into a hawk. Then she looked at some other people who she didn't really know, standing around, Sirri guessed that they were doing magic. She knew that the people with the gift, would be the ones taking care of the fire, as non-gifted people wouldn't be able to really get at it.
She sighed, she didn't know how helpful she would be in this storm, as most people who were doing things, seemed to have the gift. She guessed that her Wildmagic, no matter how strong, would be much use in this storm. She glanced over at the helm, there were two people there, and Sirri supposed that she would be as much help there as anywhere else. But, there she wouldn't be in the way.
She made her way over to the two of them, and watched things, praying that everyone would be alright, and that they would survive the deadly storm.

Rhianna flapped heavily in the winds, responding to Rose. I will, Rose- Her thoughts were cut off as she gave an audible shriek as a strong wind blew her towards the deck, almost spraining a shoulder. Tucking her wings in tight to her body, Rhianna dove for her knight mistress as fast as she could, watching Sirri come up on deck from the corneer of her eye.

Sapphire took a deep breathe and started to sing. The feeling of power and calm overtook her. She sang the notes higher and higher. With each note the dampening spells lifted. She closed her eyes and shut the sounds around her out. With each note she felt her magic surround her. This was the best feeling. She opened her eyes and signalled the other mages and then Kai.
As the other mages threw their magic at the spells, she sang at the storm, slowly pushing it away with Kai.

I will Rose-
A sudden gust of wind brought Rhianna's words to a stop. The newly appointed King's Champion's head snapped up in time to see Rhianna tuck her wings against her body and dive towards Rose. Rose clenched her teeth and tightened her legs hold on the mast. She opened her arms as Rhianna dove.
You're almost there Rhianna! C'mon! she thought at her squire.
Suddenly, she felt it. The dampening spells were being pushed away! She heard Fhire's voice singing at the storm, and smiled. If anything could cheer anyone up, it was Fhire's voice. Depending on what song she sang of course. The rain had finally extinguished the fire on the mast, and it'd need repairing. But that didn't matter anymore...all that mattered was getting out of the storm safely.
Rose kept her eyes on Rhianna. Almost...

Claws eyes opened on the deck below. He was currently experiencing that of floating, which usually meant he'd be in incredile pain in a moment. For now he savoured the feeling, calm and collected, as he lay flat on his back staring up at the stormcloud. It semmed to bubble way above, and Claw failed to noice the rain pouring fom it. Looking round, he spotted Jazz, and smiled weakly. He spoke incredibly quietly, which was not generally a good sign where Claw was concerned.
"I have a feeling my spine has shattered. Of course, I could just be imagining it. I'm not sure."
Then he faded back into the darkness which awaited him, sinking into the inky void. It was cold in there. Very cold. And windy. And almost like... he was falling, above the ship, and falling through the storm. A bolt of lightning went through his ethereal self, leaving a blue trail in his chest. He continued to fall, gathering speed, and he saw all the ships mages. They were trying to break spells. How fun. Was he delirious? Yes. Yes he was. Claws thoughts continued to bubble, the main one being a defensive' I deserve to get delirious once in a while. Unfortunately, he had opened his mind channel and mos of the mages on the ship could hear his confused ramblings.

Sapphire just ignored Claws rambling and continued to sing. She pushed away the storm and smiled in satisfaction. The storm was going away fast. Her voice was honey sweet, and that is waht she loved about it. She focused on the power feeling again. She'd worry about Claw later. She would heal him somehow. For a strange reason she felt that all of this was in a strange way her fault. And she had to fix it.
She sang and the power feeling grew. It was a good feeling. She sang the last of the storm away and smiled at her apprentice. "Good work," she said between coughs. Singing actually kind of hurt. "You should drink some water, K"

"I have a feeling my spine has shattered. Of course, I could just be imagining it. I'm not sure."
"You aren't," Jazz replied grimly, but accurately. Dampening spells did not affect wild magice whatsoever, and though Jasmin was incapable of healing a two-legger, she could see very well that his spine was, indeed, shattered. She hesitated before declining the option of helping him to sit up. It would only cause him more pain, and it wouldn't help much. In fact, Jazz almost collapsed with relief when her youngest sister arrived. Blood loss, Jasmin could deal with. Sickness. Broken limbs. But a shattered spine...
"Katya! Thank the Godess!" she said, breathlessly. She knew how much her sister despised being unable to stop injuries before they started, but Katya saved lives. That was important. "Shattered spine, obviously. Is their anything else you need? I can see what I can scrape up, at the rate the mages are going well be fine in a bit. I don't think any others are hurt too badly, but I'll see." Wow. Takes talking without a breath to a whole new level. But her words rang true - even now, she could feel the dampening spells being lifted by Fhire and Rhianna, and being kept off by the mages. Storm clouds were shrinking. Nice work, Fhire, Kaidreni.
I deserve to get delirious once in a while.
The weak, magical words brought Jasminai out of her thoughts, and back into the real world. Claw. Delirious. Gods. "Of course you do, Claw, but can you not pospone it until we're safe? Please?" she pleaded, though she knew it was fruitless. Deliriousness was deliriousness. And Jazz was helpless. Again. This was not a good day.

((*cough* I'm currently not helping lift the dampening spells, at the moment I'mtrying desperately to stay alive.))
Rhianna concentrated hard as she listened to her knight mistress's voice in her mind. Another gust pushed her off course slightly so that instead of landing right in Rose's arms, the hawk landed closer to the knight's left shoulder. Pulling her head back, Rhianna hoped it would be enough to save her knight mistress and friend injury from her sharp beak.

Katya
Katya felt his pulse and made sure that everything but his back was in working condition. I don't think any others are hurt too badly, but I'll see."
She looked at her sister pityingly. "You must be tired, I'm sorry I couldn't get here earlier. I'll probably ask someone to get my medicine kit. I'll help claw as best I can, but I'll need to buy some supplies when we hit land.""
She knew she could do little but wait for the right supplies. She could heal most things now- but not a shattered spine- that would require herbs that she did not have.
Kaidreni ((OOC: sorry I didn't reply earlier)) Kaidreni tried her best to sing and was thoroughly weary when she finished. She was glad Fhire was pleased though. "Good work," she said between coughs. Singing actually kind of hurt. "You should drink some water, K" Kai did think this was a good idea, at the mention of water her mouth felt parched. Nice work, Fhire, Kaidreni.. She pushed some hair out of her eyes and walked down the deck, seeing if she could be of any help. She would try and ask the mages if they needed any help finding the injured. Maybe the crew would need some more help too. THe best thing she could do would be to ask Fhire if she needed Kai to do anything. "Do you need any more help?" She asked politely.
