Okay, this guy's quite a confusing character, with two identities and all, but it's not that bad. He has two names and two jobs, and that's pretty much it. I wonder if I should drop the whole two identities thing though.
About You
[Name/Alais:] Scarlett
[Contact Info:] gxpantheonx@yahoo.com
Your Character
[Full Name:] Garrett noh Ithil of Eldorne/Flynn Leilani
[Age:] 21
[Gender:] Male
[Date of Birth:] July 20
[Place of Birth:] Fief Ithil, Yamani.
[Residence:] The palace in Corus. He likes to travel, so you can probably find him anywhere except Eldorne.
[Class:] Noble & rogue.
[Title/rank:] Garrett of Eldorne
[Alignment:] Neutral
[Occupation:] A royal spy/blacksmith.
[Appearance:]
Garrett has a light build at 5'8'', graceful and lithe instead of the heavier build of knights. His skin is clear and slightly tanned from work in the sun, making a light, creamy brown, a tribute to his heritage. His skin carries no marks, except for his right arm, where there's a burn scar. Queer for a noble that stays indoors and suffers from no hard work, that his friends know of, his hands are rough, from being a blacksmith. He stands straight and confidently - like any noble - so he still appears intimidating despite his light build.
Dark hair adorns his amiable face. Curly lashes frame his almond-shaped, hazel eyes, giving his face a feminine look. His features are sharp, with a thin-lipped mouth, smooth cheeks, and prominent cheekbones. His eyes twinkle when he laughs, but besides then, they never betray his emotions, from the famed Yamani mask, giving him a cold, unfriendly look when he wishes. Thankfully, he likes to smile.
When he's the blacksmith and rogue Flynn, not much else is different. As a noble, he rarely leaves indoors so not many people have seen his face before. Walking out in the open where no recognizes your face is safe enough for him, as long as he makes sure to keep out of the path of any noble. However, that confident posture of his makes people wonder if he's a noble. As Flynn, he actually expresses his emotions, taking off that Yamani mask (which is pretty hard to do).
[Attire:]
Simple, comfortable clothes is all. Normal (not fancy) breeches, tunics, and shirts that are comfortable and sturdy suit him well enough, both as a noble and as Flynn. He owns some riding clothes and sturdy aprons for when he's in the smithy.
[Personality:]
Garr is an amiable fellow, one who likes to laugh and seems to befriend people easily. It's such a shame that he's forced to be secluded alot due to his unofficial court title in Tortall as a disgraced noble. That's where Flynn comes in. Flynn gives Garrett a chance to walk outdoors more, meet people, and have some fun, not to mention to satisfy his fondness for stealing.
Garrett is a naturally very curious person. He loves to learn and know more, making a good spy. He lacks the caution needed in situations where dangers are hidden, like in a pub where people may overhear, instead of when they're placed prominently before you, like an open confrontation or when on a mission.
He's an artist. He loves art and can draw well. All forms of art (dancing, music, etc.) intrigue him and can easily bait him. He can be enchanted for an hour by some pretty scenery. It makes him a hard guy to walk and talk with, since he's always being distracted by something pretty, shiny, or some interesting thing he observed.
If it weren't the Yamani mask he grew up with and used to, he would be a very expressive person, one of those people who are constantly talking and horrible at hiding private feelings. He thinks life is a game and nothing more.
[Beliefs - personal and political:]
Garrett believes in that code of chivalry, although he never took it up as a knight. He does believe in equality, but he believes women should be treated nicely, friends received courteously, etc. He does believe in equality and that everyone should be able to do anything they want.
[Fears:]
He fears illness and being discovered as a rogue. He was exposed as a rogue once, and he isn't ready to be executed. Interestingly, he's afraid of his father.
[Likes:]
He loves the sea and traveling. Garrett loves to steal, with all the excitement and thrill that comes along with it; it became a habit so it can't be helped now. He loves to drink but is a strong drinker, so it takes quite a bit to get him drunk.
He has a fondness for swords and their beauty, hence his secret job. He's almost like a crow, one who loves shiny stuff and loves to learn. And speaking of shiny stuff, he loves gold. Real gold, not fake imitations. He enjoys art and goes out to draw often. Any form of art is appreciated by him, unless it's horrid. Dancing, music, painting, design, etc. all attract his attention.
[Dislikes:]
He's an agreeable man, so there isn't much he doesn't like. He hates insects, but doesn't fear them. He holds a grudge against other nobles, even if they're friendly, for they were the ones who wanted him executed. He highly dislikes his father.
[Quirks:]
Garr used to be right handed, but because of that severe burn on his right arm when he was young, he managed to 'convert' to a left-hander. The right arm was unusable and weak for two years, and the burn does still hurt sometimes.
He's also deathly afraid of mosquito bites, for they swell up for him.
[Weapons:]
Sword - highly skilled - prefered
Daggers/Knives - highly skilled - prefered
Hand-to-Hand Combat - skilled -prefered
Shortbow - skilled
Glaive - average
Longbow - pretty bad
[Inventory:]
Garrett doesn't have a lot. His father continues to refuse to let him inherit anything or give him any money, so the future doesn't look so bright for him in terms of finance. He has to rely on his mother, but he feels bad for asking money from her in the Yamani Islands. You can kind of see why he needs to take some side jobs, as a rogue and a blacksmith - jobs that are unfit for nobles.
He does own a whole set of swords and daggers that he made and got a mage to charm so they don't break as easily. He owns a cloak that's spelled to be waterproof and fireproof.
[Strengths:]
He can think quickly when the situation calls for it and adapts easily to a new environment. He loves to learn and thirsts for information, making a quick learner and an excellent spy. Garr has a flexible, quick body, which makes him a hard target to hit. He's a really good artist and blacksmith =D And he's a kind and good-tempered person.
[Weaknesses:]
Garrett fails when it comes to teamwork, prefering to do some things alone, without a team, which is dangerous sometimes. He gets distracted easily and is very uncautious when there's no prominent danger.
[Magic:] He has the Sight, and it's pretty strong. I don't think much else can be said about it.
[Goal:]
He really has no goal. Life is a game, and he'll just go along with the flow. He would like to take down the nobles of Tortall though...
[Family:]
Nathaniel of Eldorne
Father - Running the fief in Eldorne.
Leyla noh Ithil
Mother - Running the fief at Ithil.
[Lover:]
No one, as of yet. He flirts with the ladies, but no one particularly strikes his fancy.
[Familiar/Pet:]
A few sparrows who do some information relaying work. A black mare named Lightning accompanies him on riding trips.
[History:]
This is the long and interesting part. Garrett was born in, and spent his first three years in, Ithil on the Yamani Islands. That was when his father was on vacation at Ithil. Garrett moved with his dad back to Ithil, making a trip back to Yamani every year to visit his mom. As the heir of Eldorne, his dad wanted him to grow up as a knight and decided to send him off to Corus as a page at age 11. But something else struck Garrett's fancy.
He spent a lot of time strolling through the town when his father was busy with duties around the fief. He was advised to dress like a commoner, and so he did. Some other kids saw him and mistook him for an orphan, and they took him in to the top rogue in Eldorne. The rogue offered to train Garrett as a rogue, and Garrett, not fully understanding what was going on, accidently agreed. He didn't regret it later on either.
He visited the rogue each day, and the rogue continued to believe he was an orphan, whom he named Flekar Letomari. Seeing that Garrett showed promise, he advised Garrett to visit the Rogue in Corus. Seeing how his father was sending him to Corus at when he's 11, he agreed.
Garr feared his father and didn't want to tell him what was going on, but he knew he could only pick one: rogue or knight. He would've made a good knight since he followed the code of chivalry even then, knowing that if he was a rogue, he would be breaking the code of honor as a knight, which to him is bad. Garrett loved the life of a rogue and chose the path of the rogue.
He was disobeying his father and didn't want to take his father's money to get to Corus, since he wasn't following his father's instructions to become a knight. He left a note and went to Corus by following the instructions of the rogue, hitching some rides with some of the rogue's friends. He was eleven and he spent nine years in Corus, with his father furious. His mother was heartbroken. He became the apprentice of a blacksmith. His father sent out search parties throughout Corus, and finally, he was caught by a friend he grew up with in the Yamani Islands.
Garrett was brought before the king and queen, as well as all the nobles. His father wanted him dead, for running away and being a rogue, for being a rogue when you're a noble is a crime. The king pardoned him and requested that he discontinue being a rogue. However, he did lose the favor of his father and most of the other nobles.
His father refused to let him back into Eldorne and refused to fund him or let him inherit the Eldorne title. After a month, he discovered he had no choice but to resume work as a rogue. He took the alias as Flynn Leilani, almost similiar to the name the first rogue he met gave him. He took up blacksmithing as a profession, and made the former him, Garrett of Eldorne, a secluded hermit. Such a shame that a person so young would be forced to hide and take up another identity.
