It was cold on Balor's needle, despite it being just after midsummer. Claw was floating above the viewing platform, frowning. The world was so dark sometimes. Things went wrong so often. He himself was incredibly lucky to be alive, and only good friends and copious amounts of magic had kept him alive. He carefully inspected his own hand and the lattice of black lines which had been showing recently. The only problem was, he had no idea what it meant. And that frightened him. It was the beginning pangs of worry that would grow to panic and then terror.
To take his mind of this , he cast his magic to the city, and roared around it in his magic. Roads flew past at stupendous speeds, but he felt that terrible feeling still clinging to his bones. With a crack, his magical self whipped back to his body. The webbed lines on his hand were clearer now, and he felt them caustiously. They felt dark, but at the same time they felt like him. He shuddered at this thought.
He slowly lowered himself to the viewing platform, and let his hair whip with the wind that rushed past. That shadowy thought kept lurking in his mind, but he tired to brush it away. Sadly, it didn't work very well...

Rose walked up the familiar steps that led to the top of Balors Needle. She'd been up there so many times before, it was beginning to feel like home. But a little bird had come to her and told her of a man floating above the platform, a man with magic. Rose had rolled her eyes. It was probably Claw.
She climbed and climbed to the top of the tallest tower in the Palace, and finally stopped at the room. She cast her eyes around and finally spotted Claw, who was floating. His eyes were staring at his hand. Rose shook her head. They'd all been through so much the past 2 months that it was understandable. And Claw...well Claw had probably been hit the hardest, being brought back from the dead and all. She called out to him silently so that she wouldn't break his concentration.
Hey stranger. You look kind of...worried...I guess thats the right word to use. What has your mind caught?
