"...you really need to try a different form of meditation. May I suggest having a talk with Professor Freya? She's an expert in staff-meditation. I never got it, but I get the feeling this will work better for you," Camaria was saying to a young student, no more than sixteen, as she walked down the hall, indigo mage's robe flowing behind her. The young mage struggled to keep up with her fast, businesslike pace, his face obviously showing confusion. Cam smiled, and pushed up her glasses with her free hand, her other clutching a bunch of papers to her chest. "Trust me, Benjamin. It will be better for you in the long run." She nodded, made her excuses, then continued along the corridor, unhampered by any students this time. Eventually she managed to get to her office and yelled to the dean that she was going home. The skies were already darkening for early evening.
Young mages! Nothing but trouble. Cam was one not so long ago. Sis the students honestly think she was stupid? With a rueful smile, she locked her office door. Of course not. They just thought they were incredibly amazing. It was part of being a student of magic. But as much as she loved her job, she wanted to have a bit of time to herself, maybe walk around the city... So lost was she in the very idea of free time, which we all know is non-existent, that she didn't pay attention to her route, and consequently caught her foot on the top stair, and went tumbling down, a blur of indigo and black braids, accesorized by a whole bunch of white papers floating to the ground, scattering over the the grand marble stairs.
Swearing like the commoner that she was, Cam sat up, her mouth set in a little scowl. She dusted off her mage's robe, and began scrabbling around on the floor and picking up her papers, cursing all the while. Free time surely was an illusion, for it didn't look that likely today.

Raelle walked as quickly as possible, trying to look nonchalant. Truthfully, she was in awe. Could a place like this be any better? People wandered around, looking as if they were daydreaming, not having a care in the world. They were so lucky to be here!
She entered a room with a gargantuan marble staircase. She shifted her package around carefully, so she didn't crease the material. She looked around and frowned. Where was she? Oh no! she was lost!
Rae turned around and looked about. Where was she? She was supposed to be taking some clothing to one of the professors. But she was totally lost! A commotion behind her made Raelle whirl around. A mass of indigo material went flying down the stairs along with a whirlwind of papers. The mass sat up and Rae realised it was a person! Trying to hide a smile since this person, who was in fact a woman, was using rather colourful language, Rae contemplated asking for help.
Rae took a breath, adjusted her package and approached the woman. She frowned in worry and wondered if this woman was all right. "Begging your pardon, Miss. But could you help me? I'm terrbly lost!" asked Rae, shyly looking through her lashes. This woman was a rather funny character!

Camaria simmered down as she collected her scattered papers, all thirty-one handwritten pages of her magical theory thesis. She breathed a sigh of relief to see that they weren't damaged in the least, save for a few bent corners. The university cleaning staff were very good. Very highly paid too, come to think of it. They'd have to be, when students kept exploding things and it sometimes rained indoors. You had to be a very desperate or a very persevering person to work in a magical university, when you weren't, yourself, magical. Mages are different. Everybody knew they were insane. Hell, they'd be the ones to make that diagnosis.
She straightened the stack of papers, once she'd gathered them all, then picked herself up off the floor. She straightened and dusted off her robes, pushed her glasses up, and brushed some loose braids from her face. Cam looked back up the length of stairs, and shook her head. That was so typical of her, falling down the stairs. When was it going to stop? Sander would never stop teasing her at this rate. She sighed. Lysander and Elaine. She hadn't seen her siblings in weeks! She really needed some time off. This wasn't a particularly good day. The students had managed to blow up the potions chamber for the third time this month, and she'd ripped another pair of mage's robes. Joy.
"Beggingyour pardon, Miss. But could you help me? I'm terrbly lost!"
The quiet voice startled her out of her thoughts. Cam looked at the girl, younger than she was, who seemed incredibly timid and, indeed, quite lost. Camaria smiled slightly, and stuck her stack of pages under one arm. "Of course I can. Who are you looking for, miss...?" she let the sentence hand in the air, hoping the lost girl would supply a name. It was only courtesy.
[She can be looking for Cam... heh, she'd have completely forgotten...]

Raelle looked uncomfortable around her. She hated asking strangers anything, let alone to talk to them. But this was completely necessary, she assured herself. Elyssa Vetinari, her friend and employer, would be so disappointed if the clothes weren't delivered. So Rae would have to grit her teeth and get help.
"Of course I can. Who are you looking for, miss...?" This startled Raelle out of her trance she had been in, worrying about the clothes. At least the woman was willing to help, which was really kind.
Rae took a breath and asked, "I have some robes to deliver to a person. Their name is Alevi. Camaria, I think. So can you help, please?" she looked at the floor and then up again at the woman's face. Suddenly it occured to her, this might just be the person for whom the robes were meant!

Camaria had a permanent feeling of forgetfulness. It wasn't a particularly misleading feeling, as Cam had most likely forgotten something, but she always forgot what it was in any case, so she often felt slightly awkward and uncomfortable, as if she'd forgotten something that was very important. It was quite annoying, in actual fact. She worried herself sick with all these doubts running through her mind constantly. It was positively awful. But she was sure she hadn't forgotten anything...
She turned her wavering attention back to the girl, who seemed quite timorous and gave the impression that she was the personification of awkward, who was speaking. She felt happy to help. After all, the University was awful. It was big and the architecture didn't make much sense. It took the students months to get acquainted with the place. The girl was saying something.... "I have some robes to deliver to a person. Their name is Alevi. Camaria, I think. So can you help, please?"
Cam groaned and rolled her eyes, silently scolding herself. That was so typical of her! "Er, that's me. Hold on, you're here to bring my new robes right? Oh, I'm so sorry. I completely forgot all about it. Silly, aren't I? Damn..." she said, half talking to herself. She pushed her glasses up and looked at the girl again. "Okay. Do you need to fit me, or something, or are they ready for wear and tear?" she asked, slightly exasperated at her own forgetfulness.

The woman rolled her eyes and Raelle has a strange feeling that this was the person for whom the robes were meant. "Er, that's me. Hold on, you're here to bring my new robes right? Oh, I'm so sorry. I completely forgot all about it. Silly, aren't I? Damn..." Raelle his a smile behind her hand. What a strange woman this was! "Okay. Do you need to fit me, or something, or are they ready for wear and tear?"
This time, Rae couldn't hide her smile. "If it isn't too much bother, Miss, I'd rather you let me check that they fit you. Then you wouldn't have to come back to the shop again if they didn't fit." She looked into the woman's eyes, slightly obscured by glasses. She bit her lip in an effort not to laugh at the slightly confused and exasperated look on the woman's face.
"Maybe there is some place we could go for the fitting, Miss. If it isn't too much trouble for you now. But if it is, I'll come back another time." Rae stepped back and turned to go, but she caught the back of her skirt under her shoe, nearly falling. She grabbed onto a railing, which was the closest thing she could reach. She grinned sheepishly and, with a hint of embarrassment in her voice, said, "Oops!" She covered her mouth with her hand and turned an alarming shade of beetroot. What brilliant timing for Rae to have a clumsy moment!
