Ariadne walked into the stable yard, her feet squeaking down the rows of doors. Finally reaching a stall labeled 'green tea', She opened the door quickly and slipped in quickly. The mare ate greedily in the corner, deliberately avoiding Ariadne's eye.
"Come on!"
She told the horse, knowing perfectly well it could not understand her. The horse stood still, and smirked to itself as if it knew full well it was being asked to co-operate, but being ornery it refused. Getting slightly annoyed Ariadne walked toward it, putting her hand on the mares neck and then pulling the bridle on, and buckling it in place. Green tea shuffled a little from the bit (it is probably not particularly nice having a piece of metal in your mouth), but soon fell silent and allowed herself grudgingly to be led out into the yard. Feeling triumphant and a little mean, Ariadne fastened on a leading reign and walked onto the cobbles, pulling her disgruntled mare with her.
Once outside the stables and training grounds they passed through a wooden gate, into a large meadow, meant for training and grazing horses. At this point, she removed the bridle and hung it on the wooden fence at the edge. Green tea began to munch on grass, again completely ignoring Ariadne, who stood, trying to distract her and finally lost her patients. She held tight on Green tea's Maine and back and jumped, swinging herself onto the mare's back. Just when she was about to land solidly, the mare moved from under her, causing her to slide over Green tea's head onto the tall grass below. This was quite painful, and cursing loudly, Ariadne got to her feet. Luckily nothing was broken. Now Green tea's head rose, and she trotted away. Ariadne ran to get the bridle, she was glad noone was watching, she did not like being beaten by a horse. Running again to catch up with Green tea, she cursed loudly. She hated running, even though she had got better at it since she was a page, she still did not like it one bit.
