General
1. Respect. Drama is absolutely fine, but not of the bad kind. Please respect all fellow RPers. We all want to have a good time. If you are having a problem with another person, tell and Admin and the Admin will sort it out. Any OCC problems you had before coming here should not come with you. Respect is the greatest rule.
2. Activity. Lack of activity is the reason why this was created. You need to make at least one IC post a week, unless you have posted a note of absence/inactivity. Likewise, do not go MIA. We have a board for absences. Use it.
3. Read the info and get your canon straight before submitting your app. Canon inconsistency just makes you look bad. Minor mistakes we can handle, but Major Ones are a big no-no.
4. OOC. Small notes at the beginning/end of your post are fine (Sorry for the delay), but do not start an OOC conversation in an IC thread. Just don’t.
5. Do not start roleplaying until your character has been accepted. You need an Admin to approve you app. before you start roleplaying.
6. We're not asking you to speak Olde English, but please keep in mind that this is Medieval Tortall. In the Medieval Ages, people did not say "Life sucks", "Wazzup" or "Want to hang out?". They didn't even say "Hey" as a form of greeting.
So use proper English, not modern slang.
Any form of chat speak is strictly prohibited.
Character Rules
1. Be original. Characters must be your own. Taking someone’s hard work and slapping a different name on it is just wrong. Your wouldn’t want someone to do that to you, so don’t do it to them.
2. Major changes. Don’t make huge changes to an approved character without alerting an admin and getting their approval.
3. No Mary-Sue's/Gary-Stu's. Yes. A Mary-Sue, or Gary-Stu, is a name given to a practically perfect character with no flaws. Please don’t do this, it makes for bad RPing.
4. The password is tortallan.
5. Realism. This is Medieval Tortall, not 2090 with Magic. RP accordingly.
Roleplaying Rules
1. Post with substance. One or two-liners are boring and hard to reply to. We would like to see two paragraphs (3-6 lines each) or more, but our limit is one paragraph, at least five sentances.
2. Spelling/Grammar. We’re not asking you to have perfect English, but please try. It’s not on to have every second or third word misspelled. Grammar should also be acceptable. If you’re having trouble, write your posts on a word processor like Microsoft Word, and run grammar/spell checks.
3. No powergaming or godmoding. Controlling another character is a definite no-no. aking a swing at someone and assuming they get hit will make them incredibly angry. Trust me.
4. Format. IC posts should be in third person, past tense. Speech should be in double quotation marks (“…”). Do NOT place actions in asterisk’s. You may bold/colour your speech if you wish.
5. PG-13 rating. Do not post any material above this rating. End of story.
6. Tag your threads. If a thread is meant for a specific person, Tag the title like so: “Title of Thread [Char name]”. If it’s open to anyone simply say: “Title of thread [Open]”.
7. Ask before joining a thread. Suddenly appearing in the middle of a conversation is very annoying. If an open thread is already going past four posts, ask. Do not reply to a tagged thread without permission.
8. Post equally. Do not neglect some threads, while replying to others. It’s plain bad manners.
9. The real password is: code of chivalry
10. Keep your timelines in check. We are not having someone in ten places at the same time. Please try to keep this in mind, as it is a reaccurring problem.
